How to be relevant even in hard times

As a leader, how do you Stay Relevant during Covid 19?

You have to “Add Value”. Period…

I can’t think of any other way to really stay relevant and stand out during this time.

  • During this time, do you support your clients directly or indirectly?
  • Are you keeping your prices fixed when times are difficult like now?
  • I know most business owners will disagree with me on this one, but I’m willing to take a chance. Are you one of the people who feel that this is the time to make money?

But supporting your clients during this time is when you provide them with VALUE. If you want to be relevant, you have to be seen as valuable at this trying time of the pandemic. People are facing different problems during this time, so are businesses. Some are closing down because “there’s no business”.

Why do some people and organisations give food parcels?

Do they give them at a price? Do they charge people for these food parcels?

For them to be relevant in this time, they are solving the problems of the day.

As a business owner, and you have to think of a strategy to be sustainable and to move forward in this pandemic and beyond. What is it that you need to do to be relevant?:

  • Work directly on problems facing your clients

What problems are they facing right now? What do they need for them to survive and move forward?

  • Introduce tools and techniques relevant for this time to solve their problems.

What methods do you need to introduce to them for them to move forward? Do they need an App? Are these methods relevant to solve their problems during this pandemic?

  • Don’t be generic. Be specific. There’s no “one size fits all”.

Rather than focusing on generic roll out of tools and techniques to solve their problems, focus on solving one problem at a time.

  • Find out what information or knowledge your clients need during this Covid 19 pandemic. Remember it has to be information that will help them survive the hardships of today and to help them move forward. For example if they need knowledge of how to design and sell a new product like (for example Masks), then get it to them.
  • Interview experts in your industry
  • Interview successful businesses and ask them how they got it right.
  • Hold knowledge exchange programs for your clients

Provide as much value as you can during this period.

Then after providing help and adding value to most people, can you imagine what will happen?

  • People will trust you as an expert in your industry and would want to do business with you
  • They will refer other people to you who has potential to be your clients

It all starts by helping people for Free. It will give you clients that you wouldn’t have been able to get even using the best strategy. This opportunity will expose your work to many people. That is the best way of showcasing your skills.

Don’t sit around and worry about the “What ifs”

Stay ahead of everyone else, by proving VALUE at a time of need.

Did you know the real reason Why people respect lock down #covid 19

Have you ever wondered why people are locked down in their houses right now?

Or let me put it this way, have you ever wondered why people cooperated with their governments when asked to stay indoors during this Covid 19? Well stick with me, I’m about to reveal something to you….

Have you ever wondered why people are afraid of accidents and sickness? There’s nobody who can boldly say they wouldn’t mind to get sick or to get an accident, (unless of course those people who are overwhelmed by some problems or burdens to the extent that they’ve given up on life). But a normal person don’t want to experience an accident or fall sick. And do you know why? In fact before I even get to the reason why, let me say this:

Getting an Accident is not really the problem here…
Sickness is not the problem here….

The Major problem that people don’t want to experience accidents and sickness is “the outcome thereof”(what will happen when they get an accident or fall sick) which is DEATH. People are ACTUALLY afraid to die. Yes we are….

When somebody has an accident, all they are afraid of, is to die.
When somebody fall sick, all they are afraid of is to die.

Now you know the reason why people are forced to sit in their houses during this lock down:#Covid 19. It’s
Because they are afraid to die,
Because Corona virus kills.
That is the only reason why they complied with their governments. (To save their own lives.) As people we are selfish. Anything that we benefit from, we like and keep.

But the question is: Why are people afraid to die?
It is because death is not from GOD, Yes I’ll say that again. Death is not from God. God did not create man (human beings) to die. In the beginning when God created man, he was to have eternal life. So death got inherited from the Garden of Eden because of the sin performed there.

“And everyone who lives and believes in me, shall never die.” (John 11:26). This is proof that death does not come from God.

So if death does not come from God, then where does it come from? My answer: from the devil. The scripture says
“The thief comes ONLY to steal, kill and destroy” (John 10:10)

Here’s another example that makes me believe that death does not come from God.

People don’t want to get old. Why?
People associate aging with eventually having to die one day.

Check this out….
Women try to hide age by using make up, doing cosmetic surgeries, etc., even try to date young men. So do men.
People color their hair to hide their grey hair.

Men date younger women. Some of you will say because younger women are still beautiful. If that’s what they are looking for, why don’t they divorce their wives and marry these younger women? (Well some do, but it’s in very rare cases).
It is because nobody want to identify with aging or old age. This is their way of defying age, and trying to fight it.

Anything that is not of God, people naturally fight. It’s difficult to organically accept anything that is not of God. That is why when people do things that are not of God, they somehow feel guilty. Their inner man “haunts” them.
Man (Human beings) were never created for their body to age. We are aging because of the sin nature in the Garden of Eden.

But then again, we have Christ who died for us on the Cross to take away our mortal bodies and defeat death on our behalf.

So if death is not from God, and we all know that God loves us and created us in His image, then why do we worry that we will die?

Could it be that most people don’t know how much God loves them, and that the blessings of the Lord make us rich, and He doesn’t add any sorrow to them.

So how do we live our lives without any fear?

Through the renewing of our minds. Renewing your mind means teaching yourself/your thoughts to focus on things that work in your favor. Things that will make you feel positive in life. Renewing your mind means feeding your mind with positive things, e.g. the books you read, the music you listen to, the words you speak, the people you surround yourself with, the food you eat, your behavior and actions, etc.

When you constantly renew your mind, your faith in God grows, fear eventually leaves you, and you become healthy, and live a very healthy long life. By the way, worries are poisonous to our bodies, minds and spirits.

The questions you should be asking yourself are:
– What makes me positive? ( and seek those and start practicing them)
– What will take away my fear of death so I can live a worry free life? ( for me the Word of God)
– What will make me happy (look for the source of your happiness)
– What would God want me to do (look for the answers)
– How do I feed my spirit? (feeding your spirit is very important because human beings are spirits, and whatever happens on earth happens in the spirit first. So if you empower your spirit, you empower yourself to handle every challenge that you’ll face here on earth.)

In the end, God loves us all, it doesn’t really matter who you are. We create our own problems by the decisions we make every day. We create our own fears with what we feed our minds and thoughts with.

Commitment or Motivation?

It is sometimes difficult to move forward, because change is not easy.

Remember every year we make new resolutions at the beginning of the year, and the question is “why is it easy to slide back into our old patterns”? The answer is easy and clear, change is big and scary

But if you want to c change something, this is what you’ve got to do: If You need to lose weight, go to the gym. If you need to quit smoking buy yourself some nicotine gum. If you need a partner, join some dating site. You need to associate change with some actions.

Change starts in small ways. Don’t make t huge, because it will look big and overwhelming. Devote your time on some small steps to help you achieve daily dose of change. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Set realistic goals

Devote your time on one behavior at a time. For example, instead of losing 5 kilos a month, rather focus on eating vegetables and 5 fruits a day. Focus on what you have control over. You have control over what can do (your actions) but you don’t have control over the outcome of your actions.

2. Never eliminate, replace

If your goal includes eliminating a specific behavior, it must be replaced with a new behavior if you want permanent change. If we don’t replace a behavior, we end up creating a void that lead us to eventually falling back into old patterns.

3. Face reality about you want the goal

We always repeat behavior that makes us feel good. What that means is that until the goal becomes larger than the feeling, you are always going to choose feeling good over feeling uncomfortable

4. Devote at least 15 minutes a day for your change

Even if it’s just reading 1 chapter of a book, or 10 minutes’ walk, just do it.

5. Find support

We all need encouragement and support throughout our journey of change. You need someone to hold you accountable in order to make lasting changes. An accountability partner for example, or a coach will hold you accountable and will make sure that you implement the change that is expected of you.

That is just a few ideas you can reflect on, and try in your life to help you focus on being committed rather than motivation.
