Where are these people going to stay?

Have you ever thought about what it means to dream BIG?

Some people think that “buying a car” is a good goal. I personally think that everybody can really afford to buy a car if they want to. They can get a job, whatever the job is, and put money aside until they afford a car they want.
I know of a cleaner who did put money aside every month, and extended her four roomed house into a bigger house, and eventually bought herself a car. At that time, she did not have what we call Matric (Senior Certificate) in South Africa. She acquired Matric and is currently studying a Diploma in Public Management though the University of South Africa.(UNISA). Do you see what I mean?

This is someone who was really dedicated and committed to changing her life for the better.  What about some of us? Are we settling for less? Have we given up to our circumstances? Remember whatever you give in to, controls your life.

It is projected that by the year 2030, up to 50% of Africa’s population could be living in towns and cities, because of urban migration. These people will need places to stay, and not just a place to stay but other services that will keep them going. Don’t you see this as an opportunity that you can grab and explore? Of course I’m addressing entrepreneurs, and I believe everyone can become an entrepreneur.

We all know that Africa is experiencing rural to urban migration. People move from rural places to seek job opportunities in big cities. Where are these people going to stay?

Even if the government try to provide accommodation they cannot build houses fast enough to meet demands for accommodation. This opens up a lot of interesting opportunities for several industries like cement production, furniture making, building contractors, interior deco etc.

Now going back to goals, your goal must be bigger and scary. Goals according to God are Huge. God gave us authority to have dominion over the fishes of the sea, the fowl of the air and over every living creature that ever walked the earth. That’s Very Huge….

So, why are you not claiming the authority that God gave you? Why do you always set simple and shallow goals.

I’m only sensitizing you about opportunities that are within the African continent, but are being accessed by Europeans,  Americans, Chinese etc. because most Africans don’t dream BIG.

How to influence the direction of your future

Here we go….

I hate to admit it, but this is one of the most difficult articles I had to write. It is supposed to be my first article in 2021. Most of you might be wondering why I find it difficult to write this article, but it’s because  for the first time I didn’t trust myself. I got myself entangled with toxicity for the most part of 2020. My belly drove me to a job that was so toxic that I nearly lost myself. It is true that “You are an average of the people you associate yourself with.” What more if you are working under a “toxic boss”? Yes I said a “boss” because that’s what she is. She’s not a manager. That’s all I’m going to say now, because fortunately I managed to move away from that “toxic environment “. I am a firm believer that sometimes the solution to a problem is not to participate in it. That is why I chose to walk away..

With all that said, it is true that we are the thoughts we think. What you think, and how you feel create your state of being. It sounds so easy that one morning one can just wake up and change the thoughts we think. Get it from me, it’s not that easy…

I remember seeing no way out, the sad Sunday afternoons, the lonely nights and early morning doing work for a woman who never appreciates anything. I couldn’t see a way out. I thought of quitting many times, but I thought of my bills. I will sit in meetings with her and my emotions will be triggered by her negative rhetoric. I was always in a state of fear and panic. Just the mention of her name caused me stress. 

Coming back to the topic of the day, thoughts that you think when magnetized, attract corresponding thoughts. I was spiraling in those emotions and feelings that I created more of the corresponding ones.

The way we think has some effect on our lives. Our thoughts in a way create our reality. They are intimately connected to our future. Our brain is the record of the past of all we’ve learned and experienced throughout our life.

Most people spend the majority of their life wondering why they never arrive at the vision of their future.  It is because of some experience they had in the past. They live their life based on past memories. Feelings and emotions are the end product of the past. You can remember experiences better because you remember how they felt. Once you feel an emotion, you create a long term memory. It is for that reason that you have to be defined by the vision of the future instead of the memory of the past.

How many people have a clear vision of their future? Everyday we wake up thinking the same thoughts, making the same choices, demonstrating the same behaviors, reproducing the same experiences, that produces the same emotions and we are secretly expecting our life to change. 90% of the thoughts we think are somehow the same thoughts as the day before. The same thoughts always lead to the same choices. The same choices always lead to the same behaviors. The same behaviors create the same experiences. The same experiences produce the same emotions, and those emotions drive the same thoughts.

Our thinking and actions create our personality , and our personality creates our personal reality. So if you want to have a better future, stop, pause, and ask yourself “what am I thinking and how does it make me feel?” If you’ve been thinking thoughts that don’t support your future, then replace them with thoughts that support the future you want.

Is it easy? NO. Not at all, but it’s doable. It needs daily practice. You have to consistently practice for 90 days or more until you see a change.

Be aware of your thoughts, replace them with those that support your future, and start to experience abundance in every area of your life.

God deliver South Africans from looking for a job

My prayer to God is to free South Africans from thinking of earning a living by getting a job. I know a lot of you would not even to hear what I’m trying to say..

Here me out. Here’s the thing

Employees trade their time for money and work in a system that is created by entrepreneurs. An entrepreneur creates a system that brings together people and (ideas that adds value to others), thus providing jobs for employees. Employees are paid fixed salaries because they are not paid to create anything. They are just paid to work with a system that is already created.

Entrepreneurs create work and employees look for work because they can’t create it themselves. Entrepreneurs create a number of clients that the can tap into at anytime. When one client leaves, the business owner still has other clients to tap into. Mean while if the employee loses his/her job, there’s no other options to tap into, except to stay home without a job. Entrepreneurs create value and a system to distribute that value to other people, while an employees within that system.

For that reason employees will never get the freedom to earn an income they want, at whatever time they  desire for themselves. Their time is controlled by an already existing system, and most employees get stuck in this system by creating debt in the form of mortgages, cars etc.

Looking at the bigger picture, are you really doing what you like in your job? If you are doing what you like, what not create your own freedom of how and when to do it?

Remember entrepreneurs create what they like doing(in a form of a business), and they run it at a time that suits them best, which means they have the freedom to do what they like at the time that is best suited for them.

Can you now see the benefit of being an entrepreneur?

You can however break from the rat race of a 9-5 job. Here’s a few tips of what you can do to start preparing yourself for taking the leap into business:

  1. Spend less than you earn and save 10% of your salary every month.
  2. Develop self control and keep your needs and low as possible. Instead of buying lunch at work, you can bring your own lunch.
  3. Get out of debt as much as you can. Do you really need a car? Do you really need to buy new clothes, or go out on a drinking spree with friends? If you have to sell your car, remember that it’s because you have a project you are saving towards, which is breaking free from employment and starting your own business.

This is just but a few tips I can give to break free from employment. People who start their own businesses get enough income to meet their basic and comfort needs and do whatever they like with their own time.

Of course it will take time. Anything of quality takes time .

This article is in no way trying to discourage people from looking for jobs. It is aimed at people who keep saying they want to be rich, or they want to create wealth for themselves. I truly believe that getting a job is meant for one to save from his salary so they can buy things they like cash, start businesses and never have to be engulfed in debt. As mentioned before, wealth can only be created when one is doing something they love and have the freedom to have the income they want to pay for their basic and comfort needs. Now note that the main variable here is Freedom. With employment, one does not have the freedom to manage their own time. Their time is controlled by their employer because they traded their time in exchange for employment.

I hope this Article will encourage you start thinking like an entrepreneur and to take risks to create your own work/business.
